Here is another example of multiplying by 2 by adding a number to itself. The 2 times table can be memorised since the numbers repeat the pattern of ending in 2, 4, 6, 8 and 0. For example 3 × 2 can be found by working out 3 + 3, which is 6. To double a number easily, simply add it on to itself. ![]() To learn the 2 times table, double each number you are multiplying by 2.
